Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: December 3, 2025. These terms govern the contract between you and SSK Mechanics. By using our platform or booking a service, you agree to be bound by these provisions in full.
1. Status of These Terms
1.1 Direct Service Provider: Unlike third-party booking platforms, SSK Mechanics is the direct provider of all automotive services. When you book via sskmechanics.com, you are entering into a contract directly with us. We employ, vet, and insure our own mechanics.
1.2 Eligibility: By using this platform, you agree that you are a private individual or authorized business representative at least 18 years of age and resident in the United Kingdom. Our services are directed solely at vehicles located within our specified service radius in West Yorkshire.
1.3 Updates: We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Every time you order Auto Services, the terms in force at that time will apply to the contract.
2. Booking Request & Confirmation Process
2.1 Provisional Status: Any "Booking Request" submitted online is an offer of intent. It is provisional and does not constitute a binding contract until an SSK Mechanics operator verifies the availability and confirms the appointment via telephone or email.
2.2 Scheduling Flexibility: We always endeavour to meet your selected slot. However, due to the nature of mobile mechanical work (traffic, weather, complex repairs), we may contact you to move your slot to a more suitable time close to your selection. We are not liable for any losses resulting from such rescheduling.
2.3 Pre-Authorization: We may pre-authorize payment on your card at the time of booking to ensure funds are available for the provisional appointment.
3. Diagnostic Services & Investigative Work
3.1 No Guarantee of Fix: A diagnostic booking is a fee paid for the mechanic's time and expertise in using dealer-level equipment to investigate a fault. It is not a guarantee that the diagnosis will resolve the issue. Automotive faults are often multi-layered; fixing one identified component may reveal secondary faults that were previously undetectable.
3.2 Subsequent Repairs: Any repairs required following a diagnostic session will be quoted separately. SSK Mechanics is not liable for additional faults discovered during or after the initial diagnostic process.
4. Charges, Parts & Warranty Requirements
4.1 Labour-Only Quotes: Prices displayed on our website are for labour and call-out fees only. Parts are not included unless explicitly specified in writing. Once our mechanic assesses the vehicle, a firm quote for required parts will be provided.
4.2 Sourcing Parts: You have the right to source your own parts. However, SSK Mechanics offers no warranty on customer-supplied parts. If a customer-supplied part is incorrect or faulty, the customer is still liable for the full labour charge for the time spent attempting fitment.
4.3 Our Warranty: We provide a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty (whichever comes first) on new parts sourced and fitted by us. This warranty covers the part and the associated labour for replacement. We provide zero warranty on used/second-hand parts or "refurbished" components not supplied by our approved vendors.
5. Customer Responsibilities & Dangerous Vehicles
5.1 Access & Authority: It is your sole responsibility to ensure we have access to the vehicle (keys, locking wheel nut keys) and that you have the legal right to order repairs on said vehicle.
5.2 Working Environment: The vehicle must be on a flat, hard-standing surface. We reserve the right to cancel any booking where the working environment is deemed unsafe (e.g. busy roadside, soft mud, or insufficient clearance).
5.3 Dangerous Conditions: If a vehicle is deemed dangerous (e.g. fuel leaks, hazardous contamination, structural instability), we will cancel the booking immediately.
- Obvious/Hidden Dangers: If the danger was known to the customer but not disclosed, no refund is due.
- Innocent Mistakes: If the danger was unknown to the customer, we reserve the right to deduct 20% of the total fee to cover our call-out, travel, and admin costs.
6. Cancellation & Deductions Policy
6.1 24-Hour Rule: Cancellations made within 24 hours of the confirmed appointment time are chargeable. We reserve the right to deduct 20% of the original quoted fee to cover our administrative costs and the loss of a scheduled slot for our mechanics.
6.2 Rescheduling: Rescheduling within the 24-hour window may also incur a fee at our discretion depending on the distance our mechanic has already travelled.
7. Limitation of Liability
7.1 Consumer Loss: We are liable for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable or losses caused by your own breach of these terms.
7.2 Business Loss: We provide services for domestic and private use. If you use our services for any commercial, business, or re-sale purpose, we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity resulting from vehicle downtime.
7.3 Modifications: You must disclose all modifications. We are not liable for damage caused to aftermarket or non-standard parts during the repair process if their presence was not disclosed.
8. Intellectual Property & Acceptable Use
8.1 Ownership: All technology, pricing algorithms, and content on sskmechanics.com are the property of SSK Mechanics. You are granted a limited licence to use the site for personal bookings only.
8.2 Prohibited Use: You must not use any automated program, "bot", or scraping technique to collect pricing data from our platform. You must not attempt to circumvent our booking system or provide fraudulent information.
9. Support, Complaints & Contact
We care about your experience. If you are unhappy with a repair or wish to discuss a booking, please contact us immediately.
