Auto Service Warranty
Our 12-Month / 12,000-Mile Guarantee of Quality and Workmanship.
1. The SSK Mechanics Guarantee
In addition to your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, SSK Mechanics provides a comprehensive warranty lasting 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever occurs sooner) from the date of service completion.
1.1 Workmanship: We warrant that all Auto Services (excluding diagnostics and inspections) will be performed with a reasonable level of professional skill and care by our vetted mechanics.
1.2 Materials: We warrant that all brand-new parts supplied and fitted by SSK Mechanics will be free from defects in materials and are capable of performing as expected under normal operating conditions for the duration of the warranty period.
2. Limitations & Exclusions
2.1 Diagnostics & Inspections: Warranty protection does not apply to diagnostic services or pre-purchase inspections. These services are based on the condition of the vehicle at the specific time of the visit. A diagnosis is an expert opinion and does not guarantee that further underlying faults will not emerge.
2.2 Customer-Supplied Parts: SSK Mechanics provides zero warranty for any service involving parts supplied by the customer or any third party. If a customer-supplied part fails, the customer is liable for all labour costs associated with the initial fitment and any subsequent removal or replacement.
2.3 Second-Hand/Used Parts: In rare cases where new parts are unavailable and the customer agrees to the use of used or refurbished parts, no warranty is provided. The customer accepts these parts "as-is" at the point of installation.
2.4 Consumables: Items subject to natural wear and tear—including but not limited to light bulbs, wiper blades, tyres, and brake pads (unless found to have a manufacturing material defect)—are excluded from this warranty.
3. Conditions for Valid Claims
Our warranty is strictly conditional upon the following vehicle maintenance standards being met:
- Service Schedules: The vehicle must be serviced according to the manufacturer's recommended service schedule (based on time and distance) following our repair.
- Operating Instructions: The manufacturer's vehicle operating instructions must be followed at all times.
- Compliance: The customer must have fully complied with all advisories, warnings, and technical information provided by the SSK Mechanic at the time of the original booking.
- Abnormal Usage: The warranty is void if the vehicle is subjected to abnormal conditions, including but not limited to: racing, track days, off-roading (unless the vehicle is designed for such), overloading, or unreasonable neglect.
4. Making a Claim & Our Right to Investigate
4.1 Notification: Any suspected fault in workmanship or parts must be reported to SSK Mechanics immediately upon discovery by calling 01274 442192 or emailing support@sskmechanics.com.
4.2 Opportunity to Rectify: Before any third-party repair is authorized, SSK Mechanics must be given the first opportunity to investigate and rectify the reported fault within a reasonable timeframe. If the customer has the vehicle repaired by another garage or mechanic before SSK Mechanics has inspected it, this warranty is automatically voided.
4.3 Validation Visit: We will dispatch a mechanic to inspect the claim. If the fault is found to be related to our original parts or workmanship, the repair will be carried out free of charge. If the fault is unrelated to our work (e.g. a new fault has emerged), a standard call-out and diagnostic fee will apply.
5. Transferability
This warranty is personal to the customer who made the original booking and is non-transferable. If the vehicle is sold, the warranty does not pass to the new owner unless explicitly agreed upon in writing by SSK Mechanics management.
